A CUMNOCK business has seen a bid to install an LCD screen on its shop front have been thrown out by council bosses.
An application to East Ayrshire Council's planning department sought to install the screen at the entrance to 71a Glaisnock Street, which is now home to The Sweet Retreat.
The business sells popular sweeties, ice cream and waffles.
The business was seeking permission install the screen above the shop's door, where the former Cumnock Nails sign was once positioned, and to display various advertisements on the digital display.

However, council officials last week decided to turn down plans for the advertisement board, citing various development plan issues.
A report setting out the reasoning behind the decision said: "It would have an unacceptable impact on the amenity of the conservation area.
"Due to its design, siting and scale the proposal would have a detrimental impact on the historic character of the Cumnock conservation area.
"The development does not demonstrate the 'distinctive' quality of successful places. It is considered that it will detract from the quality of place and sense of identity of the area.
"The development proposal will not preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Cumnock Conservation Area."
