HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for the community in Auchinleck thanks to a local group's Christmas fair.
The Auchinleck Crocket and Knit Group held their Christmas fair this week in an attempt to raise money for a variety of groups including St Patrick's and Auchinleck Primary Schools, the care homes at Glennie House,and Berryknowe, the village's Christmas Lights project and Ayrshire Hospice, as well as help for elderly people in the community.
The event was held at the Boswell Centre and raised £700.

Spokesperson Christine Walker said: "Auchinleck Crochet and Knit Group would like to thank the Boswell Centre manager for the set up, all stall holders, crafters, donators and everyone who popped into our Christmas Fair.
"It was a great wee community get together with £700 raised for the benefit of our community.
"Anyone interested in joining us, whether you can knit/crochet or not, come along to The Boswell Centre, Auchinleck on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 8pm."
