Family-run Milligan's Coach Travel has received the backing of its local MP as part of National Coach Week 2023.

The week, running from May 12-19, celebrates everything that the coach industry brings.

Kilmarnock and Loudoun MP, Alan Brown, was all too happy to lend his support to the Mauchline-based company, as part of the celebratory week.

The week aims to get political involvement for as many coach companies across the country, to help celebrate the unique role of coaches in public transport and the wider economy and establish the different needs of the coach industry.

Mr Brown said he was impressed with the dedication of the company.

He said: "As part of National Coach Week, I met with Morag Milligan of Milligan’s Coaches who are based in Mauchline, alongside Martin Bell from the Road Haulage Association.

"As a family-run business, I was impressed with how they operate and their passion for the industry.

"National Coach Week aims to secure support from politicians to help celebrate the role of coaches, establish the different needs of the coach industry to the bus industry and garner support for key policy priorities amongst decision makers."

The SNP representative added: "We spoke about many topics, as well as the challenges facing the industry at the moment.

"Milligan’s dedication to providing reliable transport services is commendable and I wish Morag and her family all the best moving forward."
