A Cumnock couple has claimed to be the latest people to spot a mysterious naked man roaming the grounds of Glaisnock House.

The latest incident, understood to have happened on July 24, follows a number of similar sightings at the location earlier this year and in 2021.

And in October, a man was jailed for eight months after pleading guilty to a charge of sexual exposure after he was spotted naked in Cumnock.

The latest report came from a source who asked to remain anonymous.

They said they just hope these incident will stop so locals and visitors can feel safe to walk around the grounds of the attraction.

They told the Chronicle: "Me and my new girlfriend decided to make the most of the good weather we have been having recently, so we decided to go up to Glaisnock House for a walk.

"When we got there everything was fine to start with until we went up around the back of the grounds.

"Then to our shock and astonishment there was a man completely naked just walking around.

"He was wearing nothing but shoes or trainers, had a backpack on and his face was partly covered.

"We couldn't believe what we were seeing at the time.

"To describe him, he was at least in his late 20s or early 30s, he was of average build, his hair was short and blonde and was at least 5ft 8' in height.

"He walked around us and even spoke to us. After he passed, he walked down past the house again, we never seen him again after that.

"We ran up into the woods afterwards and had a few laughs about it, but really, it wasn't funny.

"To tell you the truth it's not really that surprising, because there have been sightings of that kind up there for the past two years or so now.

"People are just wondering when it's going to stop. I know I don't want to see that again."

Despite the reported sightings, the couple say they didn't officially report the matter to police, as their main focus was getting away from the house as quickly as they could.

Police confirmed that they had not received any new reports in connection with the claimed sighting.
