A local medial practice's quarterly audit has revealed that almost 400 people did not attend their appointments during this time.

Ballochmyle Medical Group, which has practices in Catrine and Mauchline, released the data for July - September 2023.

It found that 391 people did not attend their appointment during this time, which is around six people per day for when the practice would have been open.

The data also found that 4,391 patients were seen face-to-face during this time, with over 43,000 phone calls being answer- which would be roughly 600 per day taking into account the surgery being closed at weekends.

Some 172 people were also visited in their homes during this time, and 9,772 items were processed for prescriptions.

The medical group has previously appealed for anyone unable to attend their appointments to cancel them in advance.

Ballochmyle Medical Group caused a debate last year when it said that patients whose behaviour towards staff is found to be unacceptable will be issued a warning letter, which could escalate to removal from the practice's list.

This was deemed to be an "unhelpful" ultimatum some residents who attend the practices.
