Auchinleck Talbot boss Tommy Sloan has revealed that the club will lose another of its star players this summer.

The club recently said goodbye to legend Andy Leishman, with the goalkeeper joining East Ayrshire rivals Darvel after 13 years at Beechwood Park.

Now Sloan has revealed that striker, Keir Samson, will also be heading for the Auchinleck exit door.

Since joining from rivals Cumnock, Samson has more than proved his worth, picking up trophies and finishing as the club's top scorer for the past two seasons.

Samson is believed to be on his way to Lowland League side East Kilbride, who are now managed by former Darvel boss, Mick Kennedy.

Sloan said he'll be said to see Samson leave, but admits he leaves Beechwood Park with his best wishes.

The Talbot boss said: "That'll be a blow as well, because Keir's been our top scorer for the past couple of years, and he's been incredibly consistent for us.

"He goes with our best wishes. Sometimes there's not much you can do in football.

"I think a possible move up there will suit his lifestyle a wee bit better, with less travelling involved.

"We've lost two big players already so we need to make sure we get our recruitment right and make sure we get the right boys in.

"Keir will be a big miss because he's been a big player for us.

"Hopefully we'll have some positive transfer news in the not-too-distant future."
