Auchinleck Talbot boss Tommy Sloan says his side looked ‘flat’ in their 2-1 loss to Cumnock after a hectic fixture schedule.

The Bot have had a jammed packed schedule in recent weeks thanks to their progress in cup competitions delaying their league progress.

In order to fulfil their West of Scotland Football League Premier Division matches before the end of the season they have had to play a lot of midweek games.

Prior to their match at the weekend they beat Kilwinning Rangers 3-1 midweek thanks to a goal from Craig McCracken and a double from Keir Samson.

However, the Bot’s nine game undefeated run was ended by their derby rivals at Beechwood Park.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Sloan said: “We have lost out on a tight game and looked a bit flat.

“Obviously, the midweek games have took their toll on the players.

“That showed up up a bit in the performance, there was a lot of flat performances from the players.

“We have shipped a couple of goals that to me could have been prevented.

“We have young players in our side so you are going to get mistakes.”
