Auchinleck Talbot manager Tommy Sloan insists he is only focusing on his team after Pollok dropped points at the weekend.

The Bot moved within one point of the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division league leaders with a 2-1 win over Irvine Meadow.

First half goals from Bryan Boylan and Graham Wilson put Talbot in a commanding position at Beechwood.

In the second half, Meadow midfielder Michael Wardrope grabbed a goal back for the away side with a late wonder strike.

Despite the late scare Talbot stood resolute to claim a crucial three points on Saturday.

Meanwhile, top of the table Pollok fell to a dramatic 2-1 defeat away to Darvel on the same day.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Sloan said: “To be honest, I was not even aware Pollok were playing Darvel until the end of the match when someone told me the result.

“We are just trying to concentrate on what we are doing at the moment.

“We cannot do anything about what happens in other games.

“So, the main objective is to concentrate on our own games and get the results in the bag.”
