Cumnock manager Brian McGinty says he expects a reaction from tonight’s opponent’s Hurlford United after they lost 5-0 in their last game.
The Ford were demolished 5-0 by relegation-threatened Kilbirnie Ladeside at Valefield Park in their last fixture a fortnight ago.
Postponements mean the Blair Park side haven’t had a chance to avenge their result and neither have the Nock after their 2-1 loss to Troon.
So the scene is set for a shot at redemption for both sides in tonight’s clash at Townhead Park.
Speaking to the Chronicle, McGinty said: “I know the Hurlford boss Darren Henderson well enough to know that he will be expecting a reaction from his team.
“So, it is going be a really difficult game probably more difficult now that that they have been beaten 5-0 in their last match.
“There will be a reaction there from their players to prove it was a blip. So, we need to be up for it.
“But I think if we can play as well as we have been playing the past few weeks, with all the exceptions, we are more than a match for them.
“We just need to focus on our own performance and take responsibility for defending properly.”
