Cumnock manager Brian McGinty has challenged striker Smart Osadolor to kick-start a goalscoring run after he notched a double in the 4-2 win over Largs Thistle at the weekend.

After falling behind to Thistle early in the first half the 30-year-old produced a stunning lob from distance to level the scoring at Townhead Park.

The Nigerian then bagged his eighth goal of the season not long after to put Nock ahead before goals from Regan Ross and Kyle McAusland sealed a second successive win.

Speaking to the Chronicle, McGinty said: “I said after the Benburb game, when he scored another really good goal, that he has that in his locker – but he needs to do it more often.

“I have told him what I expect of him. He is very capable of scoring a lot of goals at this level but needs to net regularly.

“He was excellent at the weekend – his first goal was a really good goal that showed quality and skill.

“I actually liked his second goal better because it was a proper striker’s goal.

“If he goes and approaches games like he did at the weekend, he is unplayable, but he needs to do it more often.”
