Cumnock Juniors announced the appointment of Brian McGinty last week as their new manager.
The Nock were searching for a new boss after the departure of Tony McInally a fortnight ago and they have found their man in former player McGinty.
Speaking to the Chronicle, McGinty said:”I had a couple of offers to come back into management at different clubs but none got the juices flowing again.
“I just felt when the Cumnock job came up and I was asked to go and speak to them I know how big they are off the park in terms of the infrastructure .
“But the football side has been falling behind, so it is about trying to stay in this league this season and then build on that.”
The ex-Irvine Meadow boss got off to the best possible start at the weekend as he picked up a debut win.
Cumnock ended their six game winless run with a 2-1 win away to Benburb, with McGinty pleased with the players reaction to his arrival.
He said:”It was a dream start in the end, it was a bit shaky, certainly in the second half.
“But the players were excellent and gave us a great reaction to us coming in.”
