Nithsdale Wanderers have revealed Craig Fraser as their new interim manager until the end of the season.

The South of Scotland Football League (SoSFL) side parted company with former boss Dougie Taylor at the start of the month over alleged abusive social media comments.

Since then Wanderers have been looking for a new gaffer to take the reigns and have recruited from within, with former assistant manager Fraser filling the Lorimer Park hotseat until the closing of the current campaign.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Fraser said:”I started off managing at Sunday league level with Summerhill and from then I got an opportunity to move into the SoSFL with Dumfries YMCA.

“I then started to do my coaching badges and went onto manage at a few other SoSFL sides, so I have experience in this league.

“I was then asked by a friend if I wanted to go along and help the previous manager because of my experience in adult football.

“I came in as the assistant manager, so the step up to manager should hopefully be a seamless transition.

“We are hoping to progress in the cups and for a top four finish if possible.”
