Nithsdale Wanderers have sacked their manager Dougie Taylor after alleged abusive comments made on social media.

The alleged post questioned the hygiene of players from fellow South of Scotland Football League club Edusport Academy.

Edusport Academy were founded in 2011 with the aim of helping young French footballers to develop their skills in football and the English language in Scotland.

In a statement released on Sunday Wanderers said: “Nithsdale Wanderers can confirm Dougie Taylor has been removed from his post as club manager with immediate effect. "

"Nithsdale Wanderers do not condone any person associated to the club-office bearers, committee member, the players management team, players or supporters who make inflammatory, derogatory or insulting statements or gestures in public while watching Nithsdale Wanderers play a match or on any social media form.

“Going forward,any person found guilty of such acts will be removed from any position they hold within the club and banned from access to and association with the club and its facilities.”
