Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has accused Celtic of taking liberties with 'silly offers' for Alfie Doughty.

The Hoops want the left-sided Doughty to compete with Greg Taylor but Bowyer has issued a hands-off warning for the player despite him moving into the final year of his contract.

Celts have had two bids of around £400,000 and £600,000 kicked into touch recently. And now Bowyer has snapped at the fees on offer for his player, insisting Neil Lennon would not be able to land Doughty on the cheap, if at all.

The Addicks manager said: "People are taking liberties with their offers. They are silly offers which we wouldn’t entertain.

“Whatever the offer was [by Celtic] it’s not enough. That’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter if they’d offered £1million if we’ve said no and value him at more than that."

Doughty played 90 minutes for his side last weekend in their 3-1 defeat at home to Doncaster.
