AYR UNITED’s Goal and Honest Man of the season have been revealed.

The club’s social media site took a public vote with fans last week to decide on the annual end of season awards.

The Championship campaign was brought to a premature close back in April with the SPFL resolution amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The vote was passed which resulted in all lower divisions in Scotland be concluded without the season being completed on the pitch.

For Mark Kerr and his men, this meant a second consecutive fourth place finish – something which would have seen them involved in the play-offs for the Premiership.

This season’s end of campaign awards are having to be announced on social media rather than with the highly-anticipated, traditional awards night.

Last week, Ayr’s media channel unveiled star man Daniel Harvie as the club’s Honest Man award winner for 19/20, while highly rated starlet Luke McGowan was congratulated for claiming the goal of the season for his wonderful strike against Morton.

Left back Harvie, who signed from Aberdeen, made 33 appearances last season and has been a huge hit with the United faithful.

The Scotland U21 international has been widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the division and has been tipped for the top.

The club will reveal their player and young player of the season once they have sold 400 tickets for their virtual end of season awards night.
