AMBITIOUS new Ayr United boss Mark Kerr has high hopes of maintaining his team's title challenge after being unveiled at Somerset Park today.
The 37-year-old midfielder, who plans to carry on playing, hopes to hit the ground running as they host Dundee on Friday.
And he feels he has what it takes to make them successful.
He said: "From last season you look at the players who have moved on and doing really well. It's the same this year you have players of that calibre in the squad and people are looking at them.
"Every year I've played for the last few years in playoffs and I know what it takes.
"My predecessor Ian McCall feels he left the best team in the league and felt we could be challengers. If you get the rub of the green, look after the boya and work hard you never know what can happen.
"I learned a lot from working with Ian.
"We look forward to the Dundee game on Friday and I'm excited about the challenges of the manager's job."
