AUCHINLECK TALBOT reached the second round of the Scottish Cup after a hard-faught win over Wick Academy.
The Bot now face another tricky away day as they travel to play Cove Rangers at Balmoral Stadium.
Elsewhere, CUMNOCK and GLENAFTON ATHLETIC both got back to winning ways in the Premiership. The Nock saw off Clydebank 3-2 at Townhead Park while Glens ended their slump with a convincing 3-0 away win over Kilbirnie Ladeside.
In the Championship, CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS moved five points clear of the drop with a well-earned 3-3 draw with Whitletts Victoria.
Also in the relegation battle are KELLO ROVERS who lost their ninth straight league match this season - 3-1 ro Rutherglen Glencairn - and are only off the bottom on goal difference.
MUIRKIRK were unlucky to lose out 1-0 to Thorniewood United in League Two and LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE were thumped 8-1 by Royal Albert in League One.
This weekend sees Talbot begin their defence of the Junior Cup as the second round ties get underway on Saturday, September 29.
