GLENAFTON ATHLETIC saw off Girvan 3-1 at Hamilton Park to bounce back from last week's disappointing draw.

Goals from Ryan Borris, Dale Moore and Joe Andrew helped Glens recover from the draw with Kilwinning Rangers that left boss Craig McEwan frustrated.

The revival under Peter Leonard continued as CUMNOCK picked up a creditable point at Pollok. Paul Burns converted a penalty to cancel out Del Hepburn's opener.

In the Ayrshire District League, title-chasers CRAIGMARK BURNTONIANS also returned to winning ways as they thumped Maybole 4-1 at Ladywell Stadium.

Murray Johnston, Declan Dunlop, Ali Boyle and Scott Dempster all scored as the Dalmellington side responded to their thrashing at the hands of Dalry Thistle two weeks ago.

Burntonians remain six adrift of league leaders Irvine Victoria but with a game in hand.

Promotion-chasing LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE recorded a fourth league win on the spin as they defeated Ardeer Thistle 2-1. The game was due to be played at Ardeer but the teams agreed to switch to Rosebank when Ardeer's pitch was deemed unplayable.

The Jaggy Bunnets are now outside the play-offs on goal difference alone but they have four games in hand on both Maybole and Ardrossan Winton Rovers.

AUCHINLECK TALBOT, fresh from booking their place in the Junior Cup Semi-finals, suffered a shock 3-1 defeat to Clydebank in the Super League Premier Division.

Talbot had got off to the perfect start when Dwayne Hyslop headed home early on. However, Clydebank hit back through Deas and a Higgins brace in the second half.

The result leaves Talbot third, 10 points behind leaders Kilwinning Rangers with two games in hand.

In the Super League First Division, KELLO ROVERS were involved in a nine-goal thriller at Nithside Park as they lost 6-3 to Renfrew.

MUIRKIRK remain bottom of the Ayrshire District League after a 2-0 defeat to Whitletts Victoria at Dam Park.
