GLENAFTON Athletic avoided a nightmare trip in Scottish Cup preliminary rounds by the skin of their teeth.
The Glens will host South of Scotland side Newton Stewart in the first preliminary round before the winners take on Golspie Sutherland – the farthest north side in the draw – at home.
Manager Craig McEwan said: "My early thoughts are that it's going to be a tough tie. We've got both draws at home, Newton Stewart first and then, if we beat them, Golspie Sutherland second.
"To be honest with you, I don't know much about either of them but I will take the time to go and watch both of them.
"Newton Stewart are a big team down in Dumfries and they are always competitive so I've been doing a wee bit of homework already.
"This will be a fantastic occasion for us, we're delighted that they are both home ties. Hopefully we can turn it into a victory on August 12."
