A CHALLENGE of the highest order awaits the Ayr Burners this Sunday as they attempt to climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest in only four hours.
This impressive cycling feat will centre around the famous Nic o' the Balloch, deep in the heart of the Galloway Hills.
Thirty-six ascents of its 248m summit will be required to gain the 9,000m to complete the Everesting Challenge with a team effort and plenty of encouragement being vital components to the days task.
On Saturday, the Sparks head for the Citadel for another morning of Balance Bike games.
With both a large indoor hall space and outdoor options too, the fun will be guaranteed regardless of the weather conditions.
Aimed at 2 to 5-year-olds, these are open to anyone with a set of wheels.
There will be two sessions at 10am and 11am, both with limited places available.
Last weekend, The Burners headed out on a family-friendly 13km ride in conjunction with the Active Travel Hub Ayr.
The glorious weather brought 12 riders of all ages out to play on a variety of different bicycles including tag-alongs and cargo bikes, with everyone enjoying a traffic free spin along the seafront with a cafe stop to finish off the outing at the ever-welcoming Burns Centre
