With Alex Dunn from Motherwell, the joint fifth seeds repeated their team event win over France's third seeds Toma Popov and Thomas Vallez in the quarter-finals of the boys' doubles for their second win of day as competition in the individual events hotted up.
But this time instead of a three-game win over the French pair, the young Scots settled the contest in two games.
The pair won 21-18 21-13 and now face an even tougher test against second seeds Alexander Bond and Joel Eipe of Denmark..
Team manager Karen Stalker said: "It was a brilliant performance. They led all the way in the first game and were never behind in the second, taking control after the first two points."
Anne Smillie, Chief Executive of BADMINTONscotland, added: "I'm so thrilled that Alex and Adam are coming home with a medal but let's hope there's more to come from them tonight."
