NEW Cumnock residents are being offered a fresh start through access to funded courses.
A new education and training scheme has launched to help individuals build skills and improve job prospects.
The scheme, supported by the Enoch Hill Wind Farm Community Fund, offers up to £1,500 per applicant to cover course fees, travel, childcare, or specialist equipment for training or further education.
Susan Kerr, community councillor and director of New Cumnock Development Trust (NCDT), said: "We’re really excited to be launching this scheme for New Cumnock residents.
"It’s built on direct feedback from local people, when RWE undertook a survey about possible use of funds linked to their Enoch Hill project.
"Working alongside Foundation Scotland, who will be administering the scheme, gives us the opportunity to learn from their experience of supporting similar initiatives with community benefit funds in other parts of Scotland.
"We would encourage anyone living in New Cumnock who wants to develop their skills and needs some financial support to apply.
"This fund is here for you."
Construction of the 15-turbine Enoch Hill site, near New Cumnock, was completed by RWE earlier this year.
The scheme is designed to help residents gain or retain employment by developing new skills.
Education and training funds have already supported individuals in other communities across the country.
Kathryn Harries, community investment manager at RWE, said: "Jobs and training scored as a highest priority in our community consultation for the fund, and we’re excited to see how New Cumnock residents use this opportunity.
"RWE and Foundation Scotland have worked closely with key community stakeholders, New Cumnock Development Trust and New Cumnock Community Council to design this fund.
"We’re planning some local events together for October which will enable the wider community to become more involved in these discussions.

Foundation Scotland is administering the fund on behalf of RWE, with support from the New Cumnock Development Trust and New Cumnock Community Council.
There are no deadlines for applications.
