OCHILTREE Primary School celebrated a major milestone as it marked 50 years in its current building with a week of events involving pupils, staff, families and the wider community.
The celebrations included a community art and photography competition, a musical strings performance, a community afternoon tea and a family fun day at the hub, bringing together people of all ages to mark the occasion.
Celebrations ran throughout the week beginning Monday, June 15 and included talks from former pupils, archaeological sessions, and musical performances.
A historical walking treasure hunt organised by the parent council took place on Tuesday, June 16, while a 'Summer of '76' outdoor fun day was planned for Friday, June 19.
The anniversary celebrations culminated on Saturday, June 20 with the family fun day, featuring activities including a bouncy castle, soft play, Clydesdale horses and a mechanical milking cow.
The special events recognised the school’s important role in village life over the past five decades. Generations of local families have passed through its doors, making it a central part of the community.
As part of the anniversary programme, pupils, former students and residents were invited to take part in a special art and photography competition themed '50 Years Through Our Eyes'.
Depute head teacher, Maxine Gorman, said: "The 50th anniversary was a chance to celebrate the teachers, support staff, pupils and volunteers who have helped shape the school over the years, while reflecting on the friendships, memories and achievements created there.
"As Ochiltree Primary looks to the future, the celebrations honoured its proud history and the strong community spirit that will continue to inspire pupils for years to come.
