A WEEK of fun and entertainment returned to Upper Nithsdale last week with the 2026 Kirkconnel and Kelloholm Children's Gala.

Everything from funfair rides, football games, a BBQ, torchlit processions and fireworks, music and so much more was organised.

Gala Queen, Halie McMilian was crowned at Nithsdale Park by Matt Lammie, while fancy dress competitions also took place.

Saturday saw the Upper Nithsdale Pipe Band and Buccleuch and Queensberry Pipe Band lead the parade.

Highland dancers, lorry displays and minions saw the fabulous events rounded off in style.
