A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a two-crash in Mauchline this afternoon, police have said.
Officers also stated that a woman would be reported for driving offences in relation to the incident.
The collision happened just after 11am and caused a closure of the Kilmarnock Road area of the town for a short period of time while traffic was diverted.
Emergency services attended the incident and the driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Thursday, June 18, police were called to a two-car crash on Beechwood Avenue, Mauchline.
“Emergency services attended and the female driver of one of the cars was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
“A woman will be the subject of the report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with road traffic offences.
“The road was closed but has since been reopened.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has also been contacted for comment.
