A COMMUNITY fun day has brought people together for a good cause.
Shaw Eyecare in Cumnock hosted the event on Saturday, June 6, as a way to thank patients, families, and residents for their ongoing support.
The family-friendly event offered face painting, children's drawing competitions, a sweet station, animal balloon making, a tombola, and a raffle.
A buffet was provided by a local business and drinks were served by the popular Big Red Bus Bar.
Funds raised will support the Cumnock & District Blind Club, which helps people in the area who are living with sight loss.
Linda Dempsey, clinical director at Shaw Eyecare, said: "The event was our way of saying thank you to the community that has continued to support us over the years.
"We wanted to create something that brought people together, gave families the opportunity to enjoy themselves, and at the same time raised money for a fantastic local organisation.
"Community has always been at the heart of everything we do at Shaw Eyecare."
Ms Dempsey added: "It was lovely to see so many other businesses in the area come together and get involved.
"We’re really grateful to be part of such a close-knit and supportive community of amazing people."
The event relied on the efforts of volunteers, supporters, and other local businesses to create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
Shaw Eyecare expressed its gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, or volunteered.
The business has served the Cumnock community since 1970, when it was founded by James R Shaw.
It is recognised not only for delivering high-quality eye care but also for its longstanding community involvement.
Ms Dempsey said: "We care deeply about our patients and wanted to show that we're committed not only to providing excellent eye care, but also to supporting the people and organisations that make Cumnock such a special place to live and work."
