Raymond Blanc to host dining event at King's Dumfries House

'An Evening With Raymond Blanc' will take place on Friday, July 17 and will mark the first time the world-renowned chef has hosted an event of this kind in Scotland.

Raymond will share stories from his culinary life during a Q&A with award-winning journalist and broadcaster Catriona Stewart, alongside joining guests for a dinner with paired wines in the beautiful 18th-Century Dumfries House.

The menu for the evening has been curated by The King’s Foundation’s executive chef Tom Scoble, in homage to Raymond’s legacy and his commitment to sustainability in food and wine.

It will feature organic produce from the 2,000-acre estate, which was saved for the nation by King Charles III in 2007 and is now home to his flagship charity, The King’s Foundation, for which Raymond is an ambassador.

Blanc, who is chef at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, which has two Michelin stars, spoke to school pupils at Dumfries House last summer about career opportunities in hospitality.

Speaking about his upcoming evening, Raymond said: “Dumfries House is a place I have had the pleasure of visiting on multiple occasions and it holds a very dear place in my heart.

"I am very much looking forward to sharing this special place, a delicious meal and the incredible work of The King’s Foundation with guests on what promises to be a memorable evening of sharing stories and enjoying food in great company.

“I am proud to serve as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation as the charity and His Majesty’s values very much resonate with my own commitment to education, sustainability, and the importance of nature.”

Raymond also previously highlighted the important work being done by The King’s Foundation to champion sustainability in food and organic principles through Raymond Blanc’s Royal Kitchen Gardens, a 10-part television series that aired on ITV in 2024.

Tickets for 'An Evening with Raymond Blanc' are priced at £250 each and can be purchased on the Dumfries House website.

They include a champagne reception in the Entrance Hall, Q&A with Raymond Blanc, and a five-course dinner with paired wines.

Chef Tom added: “Raymond Blanc is widely considered to be one of the finest chefs of his generation and it is a privilege to be working with him on this very special event at Dumfries House.

"Guests will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about his fascinating life during a Q&A, before joining him for a five-course menu developed by our team in homage to his French heritage and trailblazing culinary career.
