LOCALS can meet the team that help keep the community safe at an open day this weekend.
Cumnock Community Fire Station will be open on Saturday, May 23 for a free event from 10am to 4pm.
It will give the public the chance to meet the firefighters, ask questions about their work and pick up free home fire safety advice aimed at keeping households safe all year round.
There will also be an opportunity to see firefighting equipment up close and learn more about the tools, vehicles and resources crews rely on during real emergencies.
For those who have ever considered giving back to the area in a unique way, the crew will also be on hand all day to chat about how you can get started as an on-call firefighter.
