CROWDS enjoyed the "biggest and best" Boswell Book Festival yet over the weekend.

The festival, named in honour of Ayrshire writer James Boswell, the inventor of modern biography, returned to the Dumfries House estate from May 8-10.

With record sales leading up to the weekend's festival, book lovers were keen to hear from the likes of Penny Lancaster, Sir Michael Morpurgo and Nicola Sturgeon.

With the dust settling on this year, the team has also announced that it will be back next year from May 7-9.

And the good news for anyone who missed the festival or wants to relive any parts of it is that all events are available to stream on the Boswell Book Festival website.

Individual events are £5 to view, whilst the online Rover Pass gives access to the full programme of over 35 author talks for just £40.

Thanking those who attended this year's events, the Boswell Book Festival team said: "A huge thank you to everyone who visited, took part in, or supported Boswell Book Festival 2026 - your participation made for a truly magical weekend, and the biggest and best festival yet.

"We are so grateful to our amazing speakers, who came from far and wide to share their passions and insights into real lives past and present – as always, lighting up the stages, enrapturing our audiences and inspiring minds.

"Plus, our teams of volunteers, cadets, stage technicians, and our hosts, Dumfries House, who make our event as warm and welcoming as it is smooth and seamless.

"And most of all, you - our wonderful festival goers, without whom the Boswell Book Festival simply wouldn’t be the amazing event that it is.

"Thank you. And see you next year."
