A FARM near Mauchline famous for its links to Robert Burns says it has raised over £200,000 towards shaping its future.
Earlier this month, Mossgiel Organic Farm announced plans to work towards a goal of £900,000, which would go towards a brand new a state-of-the-art, zero-waste dairy facility.
An announcement from the farm this week has said that they are moving closer to reaching that target.
Spearheaded by farmer Bryce Cunningham, the farm is aiming to "lead the charge" against larger companies.
Speaking passionately about his goals, Bryce said: “I can’t sit idly by and let an industry I love, that has been our family’s livelihood for generations, be destroyed.
"There’s a better way, a way that prioritises sustainability, animal welfare, and transparency over profit, and Scottish dairy can be at the sharp end of it.”
Bryce has transformed the farm into a thriving business, achieving £2 million turnover and 30 per cent year-on-year growth by prioritising animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
As part of the journey, the farm is ready to launch a crowdfunding campaign, in a bid to raise £300,000 towards the total goal.
The Mossgiel team now say that "something big is just around the corner".
They said: "After a brief pause to get everything moo-ving smoothly, we’re excited to share that over £200,000 was pledged in just over a week to help shape the future of Mossgiel.
"Now, with all the final pieces falling into place, we’re gearing up to go live with our crowdfunding campaign very soon. This is the moment we’ve been building toward, and it’s almost here.
"Your support has been udderly amazing, and we can’t wait to invite you along for the next stage of this journey. Whether you’ve pledged already or have been waiting for this announcement, now’s the time to get ready—it’s going to be a game-changer.
"Keep your eyes on this space, because something big is just around the corner. We’re almost there, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you".
