A man was taken to hospital following an early-morning assault in Sanquhar at the weekend.
Officers responded to a call just before 5am on Sunday, September 1 after an incident on Castle Street.
The 21-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment. His current condition remains unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.50am on Sunday, 1 September, 2024 we received a report of a man having been assaulted on Castle Street in Sanquhar.
“The 21-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
