A woman charged with selling drugs to teenagers at a residential school near Cumnock has continued her plea of not guilty.

Elizabeth Scott McMichael denies supplying Class B and C drugs to teenagers and being in possession with cocaine at the Cronberry House residential care unit.

The 51-year-old is alleged to have supplied cannabis to one young person, now deceased, at the Muirkirk Road facility on various occasions between November 11, 2020 and January 17, 2021.

She is also accused of supplying cocaine to another young person, now aged 16, on a single occasion between August 21 and December 24, 2021 at a car park on Woodland Road.

She faces a third charge of possessing cocaine at the childcare unit, which is run by Inspire Scotland, on September 3, 2022.

At Ayr Sheriff Court last week, Ms McMichael, of Back Rogerton Crescent, Auchinleck, continued her plea of not guilty to all three charges on the Crown's indictment.

The court was told that since the last appearance, one of the complainers had died and the Crown was now awaiting a death certificate from a coroner in England.

The date for the next hearing was set for May 22 and bail was continued.

All accused persons reported in the Chronicle are considered innocent unless they later admit or found to be guilty.
