A woman was taken to hospital after she was seriously injured in a dog attack.
Police say officers were called to a report of a dog attacking a woman over the weekend in Kelloholm, a village in Dumfries and Galloway.
Officers added that the "large bulldog type dog" was euthanised following the incident.
The woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a large bulldog type dog having attacked a woman in the McConnel Street area of Kelloholm around 6.25pm on Saturday, 27 April, 2024.
"Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment for serious injuries.
"The dog has been destroyed.
"Officers would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding as enquiries were carried out in the area."
