A Glasgow woman thought her dog was going to die as she rushed him to the vet after two "XL bullies" attacked them.
Three-year-old Harley was disfigured and is "traumatised" after he was bitten extensively in Lambhill Cemetery.
Linsey Willis was walking her puppy on Monday afternoon when she heard shouting from behind. Two XL bully-type dogs charged at them.
She said: “I was screaming.
“They locked their jaws onto Harley’s hind legs. He was trying to get away but he couldn’t.
“I was shouting at the owner to get them away.
“She managed to get one of the dogs off Harley and she was stepped back from the incident.
“I was shouting and pleading for help, and that is why I have no voice left.
“I was hitting the dog and trying to get him away while shouting at the woman."
The fox-red labrador stood no chance against the aggressive pets.
The 41-year-old said: “Eventually, I managed to get Harley free and we ran away. The XL bully dog ran after us.
“We ran for our lives but he was badly wounded and I just kept shouting at him ‘come on, keep going’."

The Summerston resident flagged down a driver who took them home, where she alerted her husband and they took Harley to the vet.
She said: "It was discovered he had extensive wounds to his hind leg and inside.
“They had to sedate him to investigate the full extent of the injuries, which was horrific.
“He is very traumatised and in a lot of pain."
Looking back, the owner has a difficult time recalling the vicious attack.
Linsey said: “It was horrendous.
“He is extremely lucky to have survived and I managed to drag him away.
“Watching the attack, I actually thought he was going to die, I did not think there would be a way I could get him away.
“I just kept thinking ‘how will I carry his body home?’."

The devastated family are now hoping they can slowly recover from the horror incident, which affected them all permanently.
She said: “Now, it’s going to take a lot of healing for us physically and mentally.
“These were vicious dogs.
“Harley is very quiet and subdued. He is not very mobile so he is finding it difficult to go to the toilet.
“I would like the owner to come forward and do the right thing because this is a fatality waiting to happen."
Earlier this week we reported that a Chihuahua was killed after an attack by two "XL bullies" in the East End on the same day.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.25pm on Monday, March 18, 2024, we received a report of two dogs attacking another dog at Lambhill Cemetery, Balmore Road, Glasgow.
"The dog was taken to a veterinary practice for treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
