PEOPLE in Cumnock and the surrounding areas are being invited to join a special day of music-making with the Cumnock Tryst this weekend.

To mark the Tryst's 10th birthday the team behind the hugely popular annual event is holding a ‘Come and Sing’ event at the Boswell Centre in Auchinleck this Sunday, March 10.

Led by Eamonn Dougan of The Sixteen and the Tryst’s own Festival Chorus Master Andrew McTaggart, who is also musical director of the Ayr Choral Union, the day is open to singers of any ability and experience over the age of 16.

Together they will lead a day of music making, vocal sessions and the singing of ‘All The Hills and Vales Along’, written by the Tryst's founder Sir James MacMillan, in the company of the composer himself.

Sunday’s event runs from 10.30am until 3.30pm and registration opens at 10am.

The fee for the day is £20 and includes all music and refreshments.
