A second furniture and used goods business is set to expand and move away from its Auchinleck base.

FurnAyrshire restores and resells household items such as sofas, beds, units and cabinets.

Having built up the company during the pandemic, the team has been operating out of Highhouse Industrial Estate in Auchinleck.

However, FurnAyrshire is set to expand and upgrade, with a new premises set for Kilmarnock.

It's hoped that the company will begin the transition to the new store at the end of next week.

Announcing the news, a company spokesperson said: "The time has come to sadly say that we have outgrown our unit/warehouse in Auchinleck.

"We built our small business from nothing during covid lockdowns and have enjoyed working in the industrial estate.

"However, we've got to the point where we need a physical shop.

"All terms have been agreed with the new landlord and our lovely current landlord.

"We hope to gain entry to the new shop at the end of next week, then will gradually be moving over.

"We have made some amazing memories working on the estate, and are very sad to leave, but we have a great opportunity to grab in Kilmarnock, so we're taking a huge leap.

"Shop hours in Kilmarnock will be decided once we are ready to open the new shop. We are super excited to see you all and many new customers in store when we open up."
