Two separate crashes near Mauchline are causing travel headaches for drivers.

Police said they'd been called to two different incidents on the A76 near the town on the afternoon of Friday, February 9.

Five vehicles are said to be involved in the incidents.

It's not yet known the condition of anyone involved in the crashes.

One local contacted the Cumnock Chronicle to say there has been an apparent crash on the A76 Kilmarnock Road just as you leave the town.

They added that traffic is being diverted and that emergency services are in attendance.

The other incident is believed to be closer to Crosshands.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.05pm on Friday, 9 February, 2024, police were called to the A76 near Mauchline, following a report of two crashes involving two vehicles and three vehicles respectively.

"Police remain at the scene.”
