A mother and daughter duo who have been fundraising for the Ayrshire Hospice for over 20 years have brought their total to more than £50,000.

Helen Flanagan and her daughter Maria Slaven have been fundraising for the charity's vital work since 2000.

When the pair popped into our the hospice fundraising office to hand over their annual donation in December, it was a special occasion as it brought their total fundraising to a whopping £51,070.

The awe-inspiring duo fundraise in many ways including home baking sales, selling on eBay and using Shoppix, which turns everyday shopping receipts into vouchers.

Every pound Maria saves with the vouchers she donates to the hospice. It's also become a family and friends venture with Maria's husband, Jamie, making his famous tablet and recruiting local business The New Cafe Royale to sell it.

A hospice spokesperson said: "We're always full of admiration for our amazing supporters and the creative ways they fundraise for us.

"We're extremely grateful to Helen, Maria, and all who help them for their hard work and dedication to the Hospice - thank you."
