A woman has been taken to hospital following a fire in Cumnock this week.
An investigation has been launched following the suspected wilful fire-raising incident in Cumnock yesterday (February 1).
Police are appealing for information following the fire at a block of flats in Cumnock's Meagher Court.
Around 11am on Thursday, February 1 police were made aware of a fire outside a flat.
Emergency services attended and extinguished the fire.
A 38-year-old woman was taken to Ayr hospital as a precaution and later discharged.
Detective Constable Christian Harrison, of Kilmarnock CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in Meagher Court or Townhead Street areas around the time of the incident who may have seen something or someone that looked a little suspicious to contact us.
"I'd also ask anyone with dash cams or doorbell recording equipment to check their footage as there could be images which could assist our ongoing enquiries.”
