East Ayrshire Recovery Hub has been forced to close after it was targeted by vandals during the night.

The dedicated team - who support people across East Ayrshire - discovered the hub had "experienced severe vandalism overnight", meaning it would have to be closed today (Tuesday, January 23).

They are currently in contact with police about the incident, having obtained footage from a security camera in the shop.

An appeal has been sent out to the public for any assistance following the alleged attack on the hub, located at  John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.

An East Ayrshire Recovery Hub spokesperson said: "Our dedicated team is working tirelessly to assess the damage and address the situation promptly.

"We understand the impact this may have on those who rely on our services, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"We are committed to restoring the Recovery Hub to its full functionality as soon as possible.

"Our goal is to reopen tomorrow and continue providing the vital support and resources our community needs.

"We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.

"If you have any urgent concerns or inquiries, please do not hesitate to reach out to us through private messaging. Your safety and well-being remain our top priority."

They added: "We have obtained a photo from our security cameras, and we are reaching out to you, for help in identifying the person responsible.

"We appreciate your support and collaboration in keeping our community safe. Let's stand together against vandalism and ensure a secure environment for everyone."
