A man who made threats towards staff at a Cumnock doctor’s surgery has been ordered to stay away from the practice.
Ben Donaldson pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the Tanyard Muirkirk Medical Group practice at Cumnock Health Centre, and then during a journey to Kilmarnock Police Station.
The 29-year-old admitted causing fear and alarm by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks during the incident on December 29, 2023.
He threatened violence to staff, as well as threatening to harm himself, and then threw furniture, causing it to strike a wall.
Donaldson, of Barshare Road, later struck his head against a motor vehicle while refusing to cooperate with police.
Donaldson, who was represented by defence solicitor Hugh Duncan, pleaded guilty to the charge as libelled during a brief hearing at Ayr Sheriff Court.
Bail was granted under the condition he does not approach or contact staff or the GP practice.
He will return to court for sentencing at a later date.
