NHS Ayrshire and Arran (NHSAAA) have issued a plea for the public to help ease the pressure on their "very busy" emergency departments.
The health board said the departments at Ayr and Crosshouse hospitals have been taking on a high number of patients this week.
They have now asked the public to ensure they are getting seen by the correct service in a bid to ease pressures on their services.

NHSAAA added that anyone who attends an emergency department and does not need emergency attention could be directed elsewhere.
A spokesperson for the health board said: "Our Emergency Departments are very busy this week. Making sure you are seen by the most appropriate service will help our Emergency Departments run more efficiently and provide patients who need it with the best emergency care.
"Those who arrive and do not need emergency treatment will face longer than usual waiting times or may be referred elsewhere."
