This week, we're taking a look back to the first edition of the Cumnock Chronicle from back in 2004.
Who can you recognise in these fantastic pics from 20 years ago?
Cumnock's 13-year-old Alison Clelland lifted the trophy for Ayrshire Idol at the end of 2003.
The second year pupil wowed audiences with her very own performance of pop princess Christina Aguilera’s hit, Beautiful. She received the title trophy and a juicy £100 cheque for her efforts.

Kirkconnel man Tom Hamilton was amazed when he found a new born lamb on his farm in December 2003 – born four months before lambing season.
He said: “It really is a minor miracle. In all my years as a farmer, this has never happened to me, and it is something I have never heard happening anywhere else.”

Pupils from Greenmill Primary took part in a circus with a difference in late 2003. For primaries three through to six enjoyed a visit from The Royal Bank Science Circus, a Glasgow Science Centre outreach activity.

The Coalfield Communities Federation organised a reminiscence event focusing on local life past and present in December 2003. Councillor William Menzies, chair of the East Ayrshire Coalfield Area Social Inclusion Partnership, observed two local ladies carrying out their domestic chores.

The Glaisnock Shopping Centre had the sound of Christmas echoing within its walls at a 2003 charity carol singing event.
Netherthird Primary, pictured, Logan Primary, Barshare Primary, Greenmill Primary and both Cumnock and Auchinleck Academy all sang in tune to help raise funds for Hansel Village.

Doon Academy P6 pupil Roxanne Renouf-Miller of Dalmellington won a trophy after with her painting entitled ‘Leaves, Wood and Stone’ went on display at Cathcartston Museum alongside work by other students.
