Pupils at a Dalmellington school were recently visited by members of St John Scotland for some life-saving training.
Schoolkids from Doon Academy were taught all about performing CPR and how to use a defibrillator machine.
Led by Colin McCormick, Archie Chalmers, Jess Duncan, Rosemary Pollock, Tracy Mitchell, Sandy Caldwell and David MacKay, the volunteers demonstrated to S1 pupils how to perform bystander CPR and use a defibrillator.
Doon Academy's headteacher Kenny Reilly also stopped by to see how the pupils were getting on.
A list of all defibrillator locations in East Ayrshire is available on the council website.
A St John Scotland spokesperson said: "All of the young people were very enthusiastic and enjoyed the experience of gaining a new life skill.
"Outdoor heated cabinets for all secondary schools in East Ayrshire were donated by the Henderson family in memory of their daughter Laura who died after a sudden cardiac arrest.
"The charity St John Scotland are delighted to have partnered with East Ayrshire Council to ensure that all their existing defibrillators in secondary schools are now 24/7 public access; these defibs are now housed within the outdoor cabinets.
"St John Scotland Ayrshire and Arran followed up by going out to schools to provide bystander CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions."
