In today's first instalment we've chosen our top six images from January, February, March and April.
Who can you recognise in this selection of 2023 photos?
We began 2023 in traditional fashion by visiting the home of Cumnock couple Alex and Jackie Weir for the presentation of a cheque from their annual Christmas lights display. Donations made by visitors to the couple’s home in Holmburn Road were donated to Netherthird Early Childcare Centre, with Emma from the Netherthird team popping along to accept a cheque for £1,150. It was the end of an era in Cumnock as Isabel Robertson handed over the reins at Knit One Kids Too in the town after almost four decades. Isabel was presented with a bouquet of flowers as a retirement 'thank you' gift by Stewart Birrell of Cumnock Business Association. (Image: Cumnock Business Association)
A long road finally reached its end in February when pupils and staff at Netherthird Primary School moved into their new building. East Ayrshire councillors and officials visited the brand new premises for the official key handover as the big move happened during the mid-term break. (Image: Charlie Gilmour)
Depute Provost Claire Leitch and Councillor Linda Holland visited Auchinleck couple John and Isobel Young recently to congratulate them on 60 years of marriage. The couple was presented with a basket of flowers on behalf of East Ayrshire Council. Deputy Lieutenant Eric Ross presented the couple with a telegram from the Queen. (Image: East Ayrshire Council)
We caught up with weightlifters from The Unit gym in Cumnock in April after they enjoyed success at the Britain's Natural Strongman Federation Scottish finals, held in the town. Shereen Black, Christine Dunlop, Jacqueline Smith and Michelle Leary were getting ready to join their male colleagues Dougie Black, David McCutcheon, Craig Reid and Ian Easterbrook at the British finals in July. By their own high standards the 2022-23 campaign was a relatively disappointing one for Auchinleck Talbot – but boss Tommy Sloan praised his players for their positive attitude after they lifted the West of Scotland Football League Cup in April. Chris Stafford and Michael Wardrope were the scorers in the 2-0 win over Clydebank at Meadow Park in Irvine. (Image: Charlie Gilmour)
