IT'S that time of year again - the moment when we begin our look back at our favourite pictures from the Chronicle of the last 12 months.

Cumnock Chronicle: We began 2023 in traditional fashion by visiting the home of Cumnock couple Alex and Jackie Weir for the presentation of a cheque from their annual Christmas lights display. Cumnock Chronicle: It was the end of an era in Cumnock as Isabel Robertson handed over the reins at Knit One Kids Too in the town after almost four decades. Cumnock Chronicle: A long road finally reached its end in February when pupils and staff at Netherthird Primary School moved into their new building. Cumnock Chronicle: Depute Provost Claire Leitch and Councillor Linda Holland visited Auchinleck couple John and Isobel Young recently to congratulate them on 60 years of marriage. The couple was presented with a basket of flowers on behalf of East Ayrshire Council. Cumnock Chronicle: We caught up with weightlifters from The Unit gym in Cumnock in April after they enjoyed success at the Britain's Natural Strongman Federation Scottish finals, held in the town. Shereen Black, Christine Dunlop, Jacqueline Smith and Michelle Leary were getting ready to join their male colleagues Dougie Black, David McCutcheon, Craig Reid and Ian Easterbrook at the British finals in July.We caught up with weightlifters from The Unit gym in Cumnock in April after they enjoyed success at the Britain's Natural Strongman Federation Scottish finals, held in the town. Cumnock Chronicle: By their own high standards the 2022-23 campaign was a relatively disappointing one for Auchinleck Talbot – but boss Tommy Sloan praised his players for their positive attitude after they lifted the West of Scotland Football League Cup in April.
