Pupils and staff at Muirkirk Primary School and Early Childhood Centre have been rewarded for their wonderful environmental work.
Muirkirk Primary School and ECC recently receive their Eco Schools, Green Flag Award.
Eco-Schools accreditation is described as the perfect way to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the ecological achievements of young people.
This was awarded wo Muirkirk in recognition of their eco work within the school, and local environment, with work including clearing littering, planting trees and ensuring wildlife is looked after.
An Eco-Schools Green Flag is valid for one academic year, before renewal is required to remain an Eco-Schools accredited Green Flag school.
To celebrate their wonderful achievement pupils and staff had a special Eco Day.
The pupils dressed down in ‘Earth’ colours and carried out some eco work throughout the day. They also created Pledge Tree, pledging their kindness to the earth.
