A Dalmellington man is set to stand trial on charges of photographing and videoing a woman having sex without her consent.

Craig James Imrie, 31, is pleading not guilty to a charge of having made the recording in Ayr in 2017, then posting it on social media.

He has lodged a special defence of consent.

At Ayr Sheriff Court last week, Imrie, of Townhead, denied the charge and also accusations that he  threatened, swore and assaulted the same woman and threw a child’s carry cot at her.

It is also claimed that he later attempted to lift and throw the woman, causing her to fall into a radiator.

A trial date has been set for next year.
