Plans have been approved to create a new 'holiday let' in Mauchline.

The proposals, lodged with East Ayrshire Council by William Clint, sought to transform a building to the rear of 19 Station Road into a self-catering holiday let.

A floor plan for the proposals shows one bedroom, a living area, kitchen area and shower room for the holiday let.

Environmental health had been consulted on the plans and, while they didn't object to them, they said that certain factors would have to be taken into account for the plans.

They said: "When in use, the property should not give rise to the audible noise within the curtilage of any nearby property, and outdoor activities (including use of the hot tub facility) at the property should be restricted to between the hours of 9am to 9pm seven days a week.

"Notwithstanding any restrictions imposed by granted consent, the Environmental Health Service reserves the right to investigate any complaints of noise from the property and to secure abatement action by enforcement if necessary."

Plans were given the green light earlier this month.

Conditions with the plans said that no guest arrivals or departures to and from the property between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
