Islay Dog Rescue are appealing to the public about possibly giving two handsome pups a new a home.

Both five-year-old Chance and three-year-old Blue are up for adoption from the Cumnock based animal care centre.

A statement said: "This boy is named Chance, a beautiful boy, around five years old, he is a mixed breed, he looks like he has the tail of a Husky.

"He came to Islay Dog Rescue, Cumnock from a local home, because he is nervous and needs a very quiet household with no children.

"He loves his walks and gets on very well with all the volunteers at Islay Dog Rescue, but that's because the senior volunteers and kennel manager are working very hard to increase his confidence.

"This boy's name is Blue, a three-year-old Great Dane, who came to Islay Dog Rescue from a rescue centre in London.

Cumnock Chronicle:

"He is a bit smaller than your average Great Dane, but Lorraine Jardine the rescue owner and the kennel staff have all been working hard to give him a body building diet, with plenty of raw meat, eggs fish, cottage cheese and sweet potato.

"He is putting on the weight every week and feeling better already.

"If you think you could give either of these dogs a loving forever home, please go to our website Islaydogrescue@yahoo.co.uk  or phone Lorraine on 07876561545."
