An introduction to hospitality course is due to begin at Dumfries House, with a taster day set to take place on Wednesday (October 18).

If you're looking to a change of career or have recently left school, then this course could be the perfect opportunity.

The Prince’s Foundation is encouraging applications and enquiries for their Introduction To Hospitality course, which will run from October 23 until December 1 and is led by hospitality manager Evan Samson.

This six-week training course is free for participants aged 18 and over and is based primarily on Dumfries House estate, with visits to local industry partners and a one-week work placement arranged either locally or with some of our industry partners throughout the UK.

Participants will learn practical front-of-house and kitchen skills such as butler services, bar license training, barista training, housekeeping, food hygiene and basic food preparation.

No experience is necessary and the course is fully-funded.

To give those interested an insight into the course, the team will be hosting an informal taster day on Wednesday for those interested in applying.

During the day, attendees will be able to find out more about the course, meet the team, and try their hand at some beginner-level hospitality tasks.

The course runs from Monday to Friday inclusive, from 10am until 4pm daily, and there will be a free shuttle bus from Cumnock Bus Station at 9.30am each day.
